2010 Powerbilt Kentucky Open Qualifying Complete

Opening Round Set for August 3rd

All qualifying rounds have been completed for the 2010 Powerbilt Kentucky Open which begins next Tuesday, August 3rd, at Lexington Country Club. A field of 156 amateurs and professionals will compete for the top honor in all of Kentucky golf.  Leading the field of players is defending champion Matt Savage and two-time KGA State Amateur Champion Jordan Blann.

Golf House Kentucky Hosts First Tee Chapters

On Friday, July 30, Golf House Kentucky hosted approximately 30 children from First Tee Chapters from Kentucky and Tennessee for lunch and tours. Afterward, participants participated in clinics conducted at the Persimmon Ridge Golf Club practice area. First Tee Chapters represented included Lexington, Louisville, Owensboro, and Pine Mountain in Kentucky, and Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis, and Nashville from Tennessee

Jace Bugg Award Presented

The Pepsi Junior Golf Tour recently wrapped up another successful season at the Pepsi Junior Golf Tour Championship at Oxmoor Country Club in Louisville. At the awards ceremony following the event, Krista Power of Owenton was presented with the Jace Bugg Sportsmanship Award, which is given annually to the Pepsi Junior Golf Tour member who best exemplifies the values of true sportsmanship on and off the course.

Thomas Finishes as Runner-Up at 2010 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship

Justin Thomas, son of PGA Master Professional Mike Thomas, has just completed another chapter of his storied young golfing career as the 2010 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship runner-up. His 36 hole final match against Smithtown, N.Y.'s Jim Liu went to the 34th hole before Liu claimed the title with a 4&2 victory. Liu, who is just 14 years old, is now the youngest champion in this USGA championship's history.
