University of Kentucky Professor Named Recipient of 2010 USGA Green Section Award
Kentucky's family of golf organizations congratulate University of Kentucky Professor Dr. Daniel Potter for being honored with the 2010 United States Golf Association (USGA) Green Section Award. The award is presented annually by the USGA to recognize individuals who exemplify outstanding contributions and dedication to the game of golf through their work with turfgrass.
Kentucky's Family of Golf Organizations Welcomes New Team Member
Kentucky's family of golf organizations are pleased to introduce Andy Ziegler of Sandusky, Ohio as the Junior Golf & Tournament Operations Assistant. Andy, who began service on February 1, is a 2007 graduate of Bowling Green State University, where he received a B.S. in Education. Among his duties will be to provide assistance with our extensive junior golf and tournament operations efforts with the Kentucky Golf Association, Kentucky Section PGA, and Kentucky Senior Golf Association. We are happy to welcome him to the staff team at Golf House Kentucky.
Kentucky Golf Association Offers Discounted Pricing of USGA Turf Advisory Service
The Kentucky Golf Association is pleased to announce an opportunity for its member clubs to secure discounted pricing on the USGA Green Section's Turf Advisory Service. This offer, which is available through May 16, entitles facilities to receive full-day or half-day visits from USGA Green Section staff at substantial savings.
Former KGA-PGA, Inc. Executive Director Mike Donahoe Passes Away
It is with great sadness that Kentucky's family of golf organizations report the recent passing of former Executive Director Mike Donahoe. He had been in hospice care since a traumatic head injury four years ago, and passed away quietly in his sleep on January 9. He was sixty years old.
Donahoe, who had been a Life Member of The PGA of America, served as the KGA-PGA, Inc.'s Executive Director from 1991-2001. Among the many accomplishments during his service was the creation of the Pepsi Junior Golf Tour
The Kentucky Golf Association is pleased to announce the 12th year of its popular Members Program, and the 2010 version may be the best to date. Golfers can choose from one of three levels of membership in the program, proceeds from which benefit the Kentucky Golf Association and its efforts to promote amateur golf in Kentucky.
