Whitney Wade Earns LPGA Tour Card for 2010

Glasgow's Whitney Wade, a former Women's Kentucky Open, Women's Kentucky Amateur, and Kentucky High School champion, earned playing privileges for the 2010 LPGA Tour after finishing the 2009 Duramed Futures Tour season in 6th place on the tour's money list (the top 10 on the list earned LPGA Tour privileges for 2010). Whitney's season was highlighted by a win at the Duramed Championship at Mason, Ohio in June.

Qualifiers Travel to Kiawah Island for Championship

The first player to return his scorecard today wasn't sure it would be good enough to even have a chance as an alternate. He didn't need to worry because that score was actually good enough to be medalist. Mark Knecht of Paducah will be adding to his USGA championship appearances this year as he and Louisville's Robie Crockett have advanced to the 29th Mid-Amateur Championship on Kiawah Island.

Stephens Oil Company Kentucky Golf Foundation Pro-Am Conducted

Lake Forest Country Club hosted the 3rd Annual Stephens Oil Company Kentucky Golf Foundation Pro-Am on September 8, with proceeds from the event benefitting the Kentucky Golf Foundation. Capturing the event with a two-best ball of four total (gross and net) was the team lead by KPGA Professional Steve Cox and amateurs Randy Niquette, Heather Niquette, and Ernie Mann with a score of 123.

After round one at the 2009 Stephens Oil Mid-Amateur Championship, all eyes were on first round leader Brad Wilder. When the second and final round was finished, all eyes were on Tyler Sharpe as he hoisted the Logan Trophy and was crowned the 2009 Mid-Amateur Champion.

Justin Thomas Makes Cut at Wyndham Championship - Third Youngest Player in History to Make Cut in PGA Tour Event

Justin Thomas, the 2008 KGA-PGA, Inc. Junior Player of the Year, made the cut at the PGA Tour's Wyndham Championship, which was conducted August 20-23 at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.  At 16, Justin became the third youngest player in PGA Tour history to make the cut in a Tour event.  He finished tied for 78th with a 54-hole total of 208 on rounds of 65,72, and 71.
