Gay Brewer, Jr. Grant Program Benefit Golf Tournament Conducted

The 2nd Annual Gay Brewer, Jr. Grant Program Benefit Golf Tournament was conducted Friday, August 14 at the Gay Brewer, Jr. Course at Picadome. Many friends of Mr. Brewer participated in the event, with proceeds beneifting the Kentucky Golf Foundation's Gay Brewer, Jr. Grant Program. A silent/live auction was also conducted, and the six grant recipients for 2009 were each recognized and honored at dinner following the event.

Savage Claims Second Kentucky Open Crown

Final Round 69 Closes Out Competition

Matt Savage has claimed his second Kentucky Open and this time he got the check, too!  Savage announced that the 2009 Powerbilt Kentucky Open would be his christening into professional golf and he came away with the crystal and the top professional check of $11,500.

Jace Bugg Award Presented

The Kentucky Golf Association and Kentucky Section PGA are pleased to announce that Mr. Cameron Beal of Bowling Green has been presented with the Jace Bugg Sportsmanship Award, which has been given annually since 2005 to the Pepsi Junior Golf Tour member who best exemplifies the values of true sportsmanship on and off the course. Mr. Beal competes in the Gatorade Masters Series on the Pepsi Junior Golf Tour, and was presented with the award on July 29 at ceremonies following the Pepsi Junior Golf Tour Championship at Oxmoor Country Club in Louisville.

Duramed Futures Tour's Falls Auto Group Classic Wrapped Up

Mina Harigae added to her successful track record in Kentucky by capturing the Duramed Futures Tour's Falls Auto Group Classic at London's Crooked Creek Golf Club on August 9. Harigae, who also captured the 2007 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship when is was conducted at Lexington's Kearney Hill Golf Links, notched her third win of the season on the Duramed Futures Tour, and is currently ranked #1 on the Tour's money list. Glasgow's Whitney Wade finished in a tie for ninth
