Amateur golf in Kentucky has never been stronger, due in large part to the Kentucky Golf Association (KGA). The KGA, Kentucky's governing body for amateur golf, has a long and grand history of promoting and protecting the game in Kentucky, and serves the game through:
♦ Uniform handicapping service to over 200 clubs and courses in Kentucky, reaching over
33,000 golfers
♦ Course rating and measurement services for Kentucky 's golf courses
♦ Conduct of golf competitions, including the BellSouth Kentucky State Amateur Championship
♦ Promotion and support of junior golf through the Pepsi Junior Tour and other activities and
initiatives
In cooperation with the United States Golf Association, the KGA serves as an information and advisory source on the Rules of Golf, Amateur Status, Handicapping, and Course Rating.
