Mike Donahoe
It is with great sadness that Kentucky's family of golf organizations report the recent passing of former Executive Director Mike Donahoe. He had been in hospice care since a traumatic head injury four years ago, and passed away quietly in his sleep on January 9. He was sixty years old.
Donahoe, who had been a Life Member of The PGA of America, served as the KGA-PGA, Inc.'s Executive Director from 1991-2001. Among the many accomplishments during his service was the creation of the Pepsi Junior Golf Tour, which has since reached thousands of junior golfers across Kentucky, as well as strengthening and streamlining tournament administration and operations for all of the organizations under the KGA-PGA, Inc. umbrella.
A Funeral Mass has been scheduled on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of the Carmel Mission in Carmel, California. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Kentucky's family of golf organizations extend their deepest sympathies to the Donahoe family.
